Clarins Skincare – Animal Free as Always

Clarins Skincare since 1954

Clarins has been making animal and cruelty-free skincare, fragrance and cosmetic products since 1954. They were the first cosmetic company in the industry to make the commitment to be completely animal free and remain among a select group that do so today. Their main focus is on product safety and they have gone to great lengths to ensure this for their customers. Clarins also prides its skincare on results and regularly conducts research on customer satisfaction. Customers are encouraged to complete satisfaction surveys, which are included in every box of Clarins skincare products.

What’s different about Clarins skincare?

In addition to the fact that all Clarins skincare products are completely free of animal ingredients, they have another philosophy that makes them unique. Clarins’ founder and namesake, Jacques Courtin-Clarins, studied medicine and esthetics before creating his skincare line. He also developed new techniques in facial massage and used them in conjunction with plant oil extracts to invigorate and stimulate the skin and improve its appearance. Today customers are given instructions to apply the skincare products using “Clarins Youth-Stimulating Method” which is a specific massage designed to stimulate the delivery of nutrients to the skin’s epidermis in order to achieve maximum benefits and optimal results.

What’s new in Clarins skincare?

Clarins’ newest skin care release is Younger Longer Balm which is meant to travel to what Clarins calls “the very source of aging” which is the circulatory and nerve systems of the skin to stimulate new collagen production and cause a visual difference in the appearance of lines and wrinkles. The Younger Longer Balm is made from botanical ingredients including: maritime prime, butcher’s broom (to stimulate microcirculation), centella asiatica (stimulates collagen production), glisten (protects skin) as well as vitamins including: A, C, E and B5.

Other ingredients include Hawaiian Candlenut Oil and green algae extract to prevent dehydration, as well as Expertise 3P which is supposed to protect skin from pollution in the environment. The Younger Longer Balm has a nourishing feel when it is applied and a difference in the skin’s appearance can be noticed fairly quickly. The scent is not overpowering, it is more of a clean, fresh, natural fragrance.

Other new introductions by Clarins

Other recent skincare releases by Clarins include HydraQuench Lotion with SPF 15, which is a fresh non-oily lotion that gives intense moisture along with great sun-protection. The HydraQuench Lotion formula is made with katafray extract (prevents moisture loss), Inca Peanut Oil, hyaluronic acid (increases hydration) and alfalfa extract (stimulates collagen production to help diminish the appearance of wrinkles). Clarins recommends the HydraQuench Lotion with SPF 15 for normal to combination skin types.

Conclusion

It’s nice to know that Clarins has found a way to make truly effective skin care products without harming animals or using animal products since its inception in 1954. They have consistently introduced new products and technology that continues to keep up with the current trends without sacrificing their ideals. It is also good to note that the products do what they say they will do.
