Beauty treatment helps enhance the looks, physique and figure of an individual. It is necessary to slow down and in some instances reverse the ageing process. While beauty treatment is mostly the domain of women, in recent years men too have joined the race in a big way and are in fact threatening to match women in every aspect of beauty treatment.

There are many types of beauty treatment available ranging from the basic to the advanced. We can have a look at some of the treatments that are commonly offered by all salons.

Manicure:

It is a beauty treatment for the hands and fingers to enhance their appearance and make them look attractive. Basic manicures involve soaking the hands in special solutions, applying skin softening lotions on the hand, shaping the nails, filing them and applying nail polish. The process may also involve massaging of the hands to remove dead skin and rejuvenating them by increasing blood circulation.

Pedicure:

A pair of nice, clean and spotless feet can be a sight for the sore eyes. Pedicure means taking care of your feet and improving their appearance and form. It involves soaking the feet in special solutions, scrubbing and removing dead skin, stains, dark marks and cleaning them thoroughly. The process also involves cutting, filing and shaping the nails and the cuticle, applying lotions and creams to make them smooth and attractive and applying nail polish.

Waxing:

Waxing is a process of removing unwanted hair from the body, more specifically from the hands and the feet. Though the method is painful, it is still the most preferred and effective hair removal methods. It is also the longest lasting temporary hair removing technique. There are two types of waxing available – hot waxing and cold waxing. The former is the one that most salons and beauty care centers offers while cold waxing is generally carried out at home.

Hopi Ear Candling:

It is also known as the thermo auricle therapy. It is an ancient form of therapy which involves inserting a specially designed hollow candle just inside the ear canal. The suction formed by the lit candle draws the impurities out from inside the ear along with some amount of ear wax. The rising air gives the ear a gentle massage and also helps in regulation the air pressure inside the ears.

Dermalogica facials:

They are branded facials which involves removing the dead cells by an exfoliating scrubbing process. This follows a relaxing back massage and a power cleansing of the face to remove deep set grime and dirt. This is followed by an aromatherapy pressure point massage designed to revitalize and restore the youthfulness of your skin and tissues. A booster and moisturizer is part of the treatment.
